UMNO Youth is hiring 64,000 activists for its Ops Jejak campaign, a last push initiative to secure 1.2 million Malay voters under 40-years-old for the coming general election.

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said each of the 64,000 activists would be responsible for looking after 30 voters in their areas and promoting Umno to them.

This initiative was part of the wing’s strategy of micro-targeting voters for the 14th general elections.

“I hope those of you who are part of Ops Jejak will be able to do this,” Khairy said during his wrap up speech at the end of the Umno Youth assembly.

“How hard can it be to look after 30 voters? Create a WhatsApp group with them, engage with them.

“If you can’t get all 30 on our side, you can do your best to get two thirds to vote for the BN (Barisan Nasional).”

In a press conference, Khairy said the motion to ensure there is no contest for the top two posts in Umno was brought by all three of the party’s wings – Wanita, Puteri and Youth.

Khairy said the motion represented the collective voice of grassroots members.

The youth assembly passed a motion demanding the post of president and deputy president not be contested in the party’s 2018 internal elections. – December 6, 2017.

  • Our young promising Khairy is energetic, forward looking and is an idol of many young voters, but not liked by Tun M before, chooses to fight on with a party not befitting his image. Pity…
