ELEVEN foreigners were detained in a National Registration Department (NRD) operation at a factory in Shah Alam today for possessing fake MyKad.

A team from the department’s investigations and enforcement division went to the plant, located in Jalan Bukit Kemuning, Batu 6, following public complaints on foreign workers there owning fake documents, said NRD in a statement.

“The objective of the operation was to prevent and eradicate forgery and misuse of identity cards.

“NRD will not hesitate to take action against those involved in such activities.”

It said operations will be held nationwide to combat the issue, and reminded factories to employ only people with valid papers. – Bernama, July 15, 2020.
