ALL business premises and event venues, including places of worship, may be filled to capacity starting July 15 provided they comply with social distancing guidelines, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
“They will no longer need to operate on a one-third capacity while the 250-person limit for social gatherings will be lifted,” he said today at a press conference in Putrajaya.
“The maximum number of people that can fit into the venue is allowed on the condition they follow social distancing rules.”
For example, if a hotel has the capacity for 1,000 people, after making the allowances for social distancing, it would be able to fit 800 people, he said.
“Now the mosques don’t have to adhere to the one-third capacity rule. They can let in more people according to the size of the premises.
“So we are no longer limiting the number of people on the premises – as long as there is social distancing.” – July 10, 2020.
