3 new coronavirus cases, all imported

MALAYSIA today reported three new Covid-19 cases, all of them imported, said Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

It is the second time this month with no local transmissions. The first was on July 1, when there was one imported infection.

Five coronavirus patients were discharged as of noon today, bringing total recoveries to 8,486, or 97.8% of the country’s overall cases.

The fresh cases take the national total to 8,677, of which 70 are active.

Two patients are in the intensive care unit, with one requiring respiratory support.

No new fatalities were recorded, keeping the death toll at 121. – July 8, 2020.
