ELEVEN Covid-19 patients have recovered as of noon today, bringing the number of recoveries to 8,476, which is 97.8% of total infections, Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
Five new cases were reported as of noon today, bringing the national toll to 8,668.
Three of the new cases were imported, while two were transmitted locally.
The imported cases involved two citizens and one permanent resident.
One of the local transmissions involved a foreign restaurant worker in Kuala Lumpur, while the second case was detected in Selangor, involving a family member of a Covid-19 patient.
Noor Hisham said the number of active cases is now 71, and has been on the decline.
Two patients are warded at the intensive care unit and are receiving respiratory support.
The number of fatalities still stands at 121. β July 6, 2020.
