THE Health Ministry is looking to open up all sectors during the recovery movement control order (RMCO) phase, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The health director-general said it aimed to achieve zero local cases in the next 28 days as the country continues through the RMCO.
“We intend to open up all sectors, including education, as it was announced today.
“What is more important is for the Health Ministry to continue monitoring schools and do surveillance,” he told the ministry’s daily press conference in Putrajaya today.
He was responding to news of schools reopening on July 15 and more sectors allowed to operate starting today.
Dr Noor Hisham said in the case of any localised outbreaks, the ministry will close down facilities and carry out screening.
“Our intention is to monitor local transmissions closely. Today has been a good start with zero local transmissions.
“What is important is to maintain and sustain this for the next 28 days.
“If everyone follows the standard operating procedure (SOP), then we can achieve this.” β July 1, 2020.
