PERMODALAN Nasional Bhd (PNB) has appointed Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn as its new president and group chief executive effective Wednesday.

He replaces Abdul Jalil Abdul Rasheed, who tendered his resignation in a surprise move on June 15.

Zulqarnain was previously deputy managing director at Khazanah Nasional Bhd, and has more than 23 years’ experience in financial services and the corporate sector, said PNB in a statement today.

“Keeping with the requirements, PNB has received all the relevant regulatory approvals for the appointment, including from Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputera, the PNB board and regulatory authorities.” – Bernama, June 29, 2020.
