Highest number of Covid-19 recoveries today, 11 new infections

MALAYSIA today reported its highest number of Covid-19 recoveries with 333 patients discharged from hospital as of noon today, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement.

This brings the total number of recoveries to 7,733 or 90.9% of the total number of cases.

Of the recoveries, 307 were foreign nationals, while the remaining 26 were citizens.

As for new infections, 11 cases were reported, bringing the national toll of infections to 8,505.

Ten of the cases involve local transmissions, of which six are foreign nationals and four are Malaysians.

One case each came from the Kuala Lumpur 2 construction site cluster, another from the cluster involving a cleaning company, and another from health screenings conducted on foreign workers before resuming work.

Three more cases involving foreign nationals are linked to the Pedas factory cluster.

Of the four Malaysians, one case was discovered during a pre-surgery Covid-19 screening at Putrajaya Hospital, while three more were from a Sarawak family.

No deaths were reported today, keeping the toll at 121, with 651 active cases.
