MALAYSIA today reported a record low number of new Covid-19 infections, with only seven cases, since the implementation of the movement-control order on March 18.
“This is the lowest number of (new) cases recorded so far,” director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said at the daily health briefing today.
This brings the total number of infections to 8,329.
Dr Noor Hisham said two of the seven new cases were imported while five were locally transmitted.
All cases involved Malaysian citizens.
Meanwhile, 20 people have recovered and have been discharged from hospital as of noon today.
This brings the total number of recoveries to 6,694.
Active cases, on the other hand, stand at 1,518.
Six patients are being treated in the intensive care unit, with one requiring respiratory support.
No fatalities was reported, keeping the death toll at 117. – June 8, 2020.
