MALAYSIA continues to record more Covid-19 recoveries than new cases, with 88 patients being discharged in the past 24 hours compared to 70 new infections, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
One death was reported over the last 24 hours, raising the toll to 109, he said at the Health Ministry’s daily media conference on the Covid-19 situation in the country.
Patient no. 6,657 was a 63-year-old Malaysian with a history of diabetes and liver cancer. He was warded at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on May 8 and died at 5.15am yesterday.
The director-general of health said of the new cases, 31 involved foreigners.
Dr Noor Hisham said the new infections also brings the total number of cases to 6,726.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 5,113 or 76% of the total Covid-19 cases.
The number of active cases is 1,504, with 20 patients being treated in intensive care units and seven requiring respiratory support. – May 11, 2020.
