Rembau returns to red with 59 virus cases

REMBAU is once more a red zone after the number of new Covid-19 infections snowballed to 59, according to Health Ministry data.

Until Thursday afternoon, there were only 7 actives cases in the Negri Sembilan district, which was the first to be declared infection free on April 21.

Total cases in Negri Sembilan also increased in tandem to 113 from 61.

The Health Ministry yesterday announced a cluster of 60 coronavirus cases among foreign workers in the state’s Pedas sub-district.

The number of red zone also grew from 10 to 11, while yellow and green zones remain at 77 and 113, respectively.

Districts with more than 40 cases are labelled red; 20-40 orange; and 1-19 yellow. Green means infection-free.

Yesterday’s 68 new cases brought the tally of infections in Malaysia to 6,535. The death toll stands at 107. – May 9, 2020.
