Malaysia records 68 new Covid-19 infections, 88 recoveries

Malaysia has again recorded more Covid-19 recoveries than new cases today, with 88 patients being discharged in the past 24 hours compared to 68 new infections. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Irwan Majid, May 8, 2020.

MALAYSIA continues to record more Covid-19 recoveries than new cases, with 88 patients being discharged in the past 24 hours compared to 68 new infections.

Of the 68 new cases today, 57 involved foreigners, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today.

The new infections also brought the national tally of infections to 6,535.

He said four of these cases were imported – three from the United Kingdom and one from the United States.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 4,864.

The death toll remained at 107 with no fatalities reported as of noon today. – May 8, 2020.
