THE enhanced movement-control order (EMCO) at six parcels around Selayang in northern Kuala Lumpur, which was supposed to end yesterday has been extended to May 12, said senior minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The six parcels are Parcel C (Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara), Parcel D (Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara), Parcel E1 (Taman Sri Murni Fasa 2, Jalan 1/2D), Parcel E2 (Taman Sri Murni Fasa 1, Jalan 1/2D), Parcel E3 (Taman Sri Murni Fasa 3, Jalan 1/2B) and Parcel F (Taman Batu View and Taman Batu Hampar).

He said the extension was enforced on the advice of the health minister.

Meanwhile, the EMCO at Parcel A (Jalan 6/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara) and Parcel B (Jalan 6/3A and 9/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara), as well as at the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market in Selayang will be lifted today.

The lockdown at Malaya and Selangor Mansions, Menara City One, as well as the area surrounding Masjid India, also ended yesterday.

“Since the EMCO has ended they are free to move. There is no direction for the illegal immigrants, hence that’s why they have been placed at the Immigration depot,” he said.

Similarly, the EMCO at the An-Nabawiyyah Tahfiz School and house in Batu 23, Sg Lui, Hulu Langat, also ended yesterday.

On another note, 401 individuals were arrested yesterday for flouting the MCO, bringing the cumulative total to 24,081 as of May 3. – May 4, 2020.
