EMPLOYERS and employees must continue to observe safety measures against Covid-19 when restrictions are eased for certain sectors under the fourth phase of the movement-control order (MCO), said the Health Ministry.
Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reminded bosses and workers to abide by social-distancing and hygiene measures.
“The fourth phase will see a gradual relaxation of movement controls in certain economic sectors,” he told a daily briefing on Covid-19 today.
“It is important that employers and employees observe the necessary measures.”
These include avoiding crowded and confined spaces at work like the pantry area, and practising social distancing when having a conversation.
The MCO’s fourth phase takes effect from April 29 to May 12, as announced by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin last night.
Dr Noor Hisham said the two-week extension gives Putrajaya the opportunity to go all out to curb the coronavirus’ spread, as well as review the effectiveness of the measures taken and the state of infection.
The ministry may step up efforts by taking a targeted approach in areas under the enhanced MCO, he added. – April 24, 2020.
