THE private sector can assist the government in carrying out sanitation work on public areas as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) works, said Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The senior minister said the assistance would be welcome and that some companies have offered to help.
“We welcome those who are interested in carrying out sanitation work as part of their CSR programme,” the National Security Council spokesman said today in a live telecast from Putrajaya.
The work is to be done according to the rules and guidelines set by the Health Ministry and under the supervision of the Fire and Rescue Department, he said.
Yesterday, 163 sanitation exercises were carried out in 56 zones in 11 states, including 49 areas in Perak and 37 areas in Johor, said Ismail Sabri.
A total of 444 government buildings, 64 public spaces, 102 business premises and 10 supermarkets were sanitised yesterday. – April 20, 2020.
