A TOTAL of 315 children below the age of 14 have tested positive for Covid-19, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Providing the breakdown, the director-general of health said there were 83 patients aged below four, and another 83 aged between five and nine.
Meanwhile, 149 were aged between 10 and 14.
“Normally, children get infected together with their family members, whether it is through their mother or father.
“If they are infected with their family, we will put them together (at the hospital),” he said at the daily press conference.
Meanwhile, parents of Covid-19 positive children, who are not infected and wished to care for their children, will have to don personal protective equipment while doing so.
Malaysia today recorded 110 new cases, bringing the total infections to 5,182.
One fatality was reported today, bringing the death toll to 84.
The good news however is the increase in the number of recoveries. Today there were 119 patients discharged from hospital.
This brings the number of recoveries to 2,766, which translates to 53.4% of the total number of cases reported. – April 16, 2020.
