PAS aims to get 60% of the youth vote in all the seats the Islamist party will contest in the 14th general election, said newly elected PAS Youth chief Mohd Khalil Abdul Hadi.
The wing plans to do this by promoting the party’s Islamist agenda among youth with the message “accept Islam and you will prosper”, said Khalil.
He predicted that GE14 will be a closely fought one between the forces which want to strengthen Islam and those against it.
PAS’s Islamist message, Khalil said, was an effective counter to the liberal and secular ideologies, which he said have now captivated Malay-Muslim youth.
“These ideologies are adopted by some civil society groups and political parties, and their spread is being funded by foreigners with an anti-Islamic agenda,” said Khalil at the closing of PAS’ 63rd
muktamar in Alor Star, Kedah, today.
PAS aims to capture 40 parliamentary seats and at least four states in GE14.
To get non-Muslim support, Khalil urged them to study Islam. “If you accept Eastern and Western ideologies, why can’t you accept Islam?” – May 1, 2017.
