FLOUTERS of the movement control order will face a compound of at least RM1,000 from today, said Bukit Aman’s Internal Security and Public Order director Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani today.
He said police have received the compound forms last week, and offenders will have to settle their dues at Health Ministry offices.
“We will issue the compound notices today, and the penalty for the initial offence is RM1,000,” he said.
He said the notice will not be issued at roadblocks but at police stations.
“If offenders fail to pay the compound in two weeks, they will be brought to court.”
Acryl Sani said no discounts will be offered.
“So, be aware, everybody. The compound is not cheap, any government aid you might have got could be wasted on this compound.”
Acryl Sani said the compounds were provided for under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988. – April 8, 2020.
