AFTER the rain comes the sun, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has told Malaysians in urging them to “sacrifice” under movement restrictions to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He called on the nation to stay the course and follow all orders made under the movement control order (MCO).

The prime minister said, although it may be difficult, it is not impossible.

“This is the sacrifice we are called to make in order to win this war against the deadly virus.

“It starts in our homes and with our families. We can stop the virus from spreading by staying at home and maintaining physical distance,” he said in a special address broadcast on national television to introduce additional economic measures to help small businesses.

“Stay strong, stay healthy, and God-wiling, we will succeed. Remember, after the rain comes the sun. Better days will be here again.”

Muhyiddin said many people might feel burdened by lifestyle changes under the MCO.

“I saw on social media that there are husbands wearing their wives’ batwing sleeve dresses. There are some riding bicycles in the house. Some have turned my speeches into songs.

“I take this as part of your creativity to deal with the boredom at home,” he said.

Expressing confidence that Malaysians can overcome the pandemic’s challenges, he thanked healthcare workers for their dedication and also members of the public for abiding by the MCO. – April 6, 2020.
