SELANGOR PAS will abide by whatever decision the Islamist party makes on cooperation with PKR in the state, as it is part of the Selangor government and holds influential posts in the state administration.
Selangor PAS delegate Zaidy Abd Talib told the party’s 63rd assembly that he and fellow colleagues in the state will follow whatever decisions made by the party leadership.
“I represent Selangor and the state leadership stands solidly behind the central leadership. We will abide by whatever decision it makes,” Zaidy said at the assembly.
Zaidy, who also holds the Infrastructure and Public Amenities, Modernising Agriculture and Agro-based Industries portfolio in the Selangor government, did not specify what those decisions were.
PAS is expected to debate on whether to sever ties with long-time ally PKR at this assembly. Two out of its three wings have already demanded that PAS do so.
PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said PAS should resign from all its posts in the Selangor administration if it did so. These included the three exco posts and the scores of village chief posts throughout Selangor. – April 30, 2017.
