TWO Suhakam commissioners has tested positive for Covid-19, while an officer is listed as a patient under investigation and awaiting the test results.
A Human Rights Commission of Malaysia spokesman said all three were present at the public inquiry into the disappearance of Pastor Joshua Hilmy and his wife, Ruth Sitepu, which was conducted in early March.
“We advise those who had attended the inquiry to take precautions,” said the official.
The public inquiry was held on March 2 to 4 at Suhakam headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
Suhakam in a statement advised those who had attended the public inquiry to take appropriate steps to reduce the likelihood of infection.
“It is currently unclear whether all attendees will be considered close contacts, but as a precaution all attendees are advised to contact the nearest District Health Office (PKD) for advice.
“More importantly, if anyone is having symptoms such as cough, sore throat, fever and experiencing difficulty in breathing, they are advised to report to the nearest PKD.”
Menara TH Perdana in Kuala Lumpur, the venue for the inquiry hearings,will remain closed until March 24. – March 15, 2020.
