DEWAN Rakyat speaker Mohamed Ariff Md Yusoff is still waiting for the prime minister’s reply on the dates for the lower house of Parliament to convene its sitting.

“I am still waiting for the reply (from the prime minister). That’s about it,” he told reporters at the sidelines of the launch of the Malaysian Parliamentary Procedure: A guide to the Standing Orders of the Dewan Rakyat book.

He said this when asked about the updates on the Dewan Rakyat sitting which is scheduled to begin next week.

Ariff had said yesterday that he will be communicating with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on whether the sitting scheduled for March 9 will proceed or be postponed.

He said he would be writing an official letter to the prime minister on the matter today before making an announcement. – March 2, 2020.
