Dr Mahathir distances self from SD in support of him serving full term

DR Mahathir Mohamad has distanced himself from a statutory declaration by purportedly 138 MPs wanting him to stay on as prime minister for a full term.

He said Pakatan Harapan has a majority, but does not know how the SD got 138 lawmakers in support.

Asked by reporters in Langkawi whether he knew about it, Dr Mahathir said he has “heard all sorts of stories”.

“I’ve heard all sorts of stories. Some (want me) to stay on as PM for another 20 years.

“I am 94. In a few months, I will be 95. How to keep going (as PM)?” – February 14, 2020.
