SYED Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman does not want to be involved in any mudslinging to gain an advantage over his rivals in the contest for the Bersatu Youth chief post.

The incumbent also said he is not interested in answering criticisms on how he had led the party’s wing.

“With regards to accusations that the wing is weak and other criticisms, I feel the best way to go about this is by having a clean fight… by everyone showing what they can do to make the wing stronger.

“I will not put down any of my challengers as I want to show that Bersatu is matured in handling its polls,” he said after an event in Penang today.

Syed Saddiq is being challenged by at least two others for the post – Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) fellow Muzzammil Ismail and businessman Razalif Mohd Zain.

The two challengers previously told The Malaysian Insight that the youth wing has been rudderless under Syed Saddiq’s leadership.

They said it needs new blood to bring in more support from youngsters.

Bersatu polls at branch and division levels will take place until March 1 and April 4 respectively.

Following that, there will be elections for the national level positions. – February 9, 2020.
