THE printing of anti-Jawi banners and posting them in several Chinese vernacular schools in the state was the work of a third party with mischievous intent, said Malacca Education, Human Resource, Science and Innovations exco, Noor Effandi Ahmad.
He said it was not done by the parents-teachers’ association (PTA) or the school board of governors.
“They (the third party) printed many banners and hung them on the school fence on Saturday when schools were closed and the management staff members not working.
“The local authorities should take down these banners,” he said in a statement in Malacca today.
Noor Effendi said schools, PTAs and school boards of all vernacular schools were aware that parents have the right to choose whether the three introductory pages of Jawi script in the Bahasa Melayu text book should be taught to Year Four pupils or not.
He advised those responsible to stop the negative agenda as the people of Malacca are united and uphold racial diversity, and have lived in harmony for hundreds of years.
Yesterday, several photographs went viral, showing banners hung in several schools, with Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese words saying “This school does not agree to the Jawi script in the Bahasa Melayu curriculum”. – Bernama, December 23, 2019.

Over the past 60 years, Malays have been losing their identity to the Bangladesh, Pakistani, Indonesian and other groups. Malay women are marrying other nationalities, names have been changing and the Malay culture is being altered.
Chinese, Indian and others dont want or like this Arabization. Jawi is an Arabic script, and not acceptable legally by Non-Malays to be used in the schools. This is not in the constitution, as Bahas malaysia is the national language. It is like making Malays learning Tamil and Chinese. Frankly, the latter may be a good thing.As Malaysia depends so much on China, it would be useful to respect Chinese sentiments. Not everything for the Malays la...free scholarship, free government jobs, free shares, cheap houses, ....how much spoon feeding, and also want to force Non-Malays with an ALIEN culture. That is too much.
The more the government does not stop this arabization, more Muslims will become radicalized and we will have jihad at our doorsteps. More than 5 know Malaysians have become Jihadis, and if DR M allows Zakir Nakir to be here, there will be more recruits. Look at the sentiments coming from Malay groups-
another 13th May, riots that may come etc etc.....and what is shocking is that DR M is promoting it. I would have called the police to immediately arrest this lot and throw them in jail. Maybe we need UMNO.
