SELANGOR is nothing without Putrajaya as all its achievements are a result of federal government policy, said Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Noh Omar.

He was commenting on Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali’s statement that Budget 2018 was only mimicking the initiatives already undertaken by the Selangor government.

“What is so great about Selangor? Azmin has to remember what Selangor’s contribution to the rakyat is. We have to remember that development in Selangor depends on the federal government.

“(The federal government) built the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and klia2 in Selangor. The MRT and LRT in Selangor; who built that? Highways… who built that? So, there is nothing to be proud to say that we are copying Selangor. Whatever it is, we see that the budget benefits everyone,” he said after the tabling of Budget 2018 earlier today.

Prime Minister Najib Razak had, in the budget announcement, given good news to highway users in Selangor, Kedah and Johor by abolishing toll collection at four toll plazas in the states.

The abolished tolls are Batu 3 and Sungai Rasau in Selangor, Bukit Kayu Hitam in Kedah and the Eastern Dispersal Link, Johor. – October 27, 2017.
