TODAY’S hearing of Najib Razak’s corruption trial will extend beyond 5pm to make up for the break the accused was allowed by the court this morning for him to see an eye doctor.

Kuala Lumpur High Court Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah allowed a break from 11.30am until 2pm so that Najib could see his opthalmologist for eye irritation caused by the smoke. He said the session would be extended beyond 5pm to make up for the lost hours.

Najib’s lawyer, Muhammad Shafee Abdullah had told the court this morning that his client needed to seek medical attention.

“I suspect haze is the primary cause. He needs to medicate to prevent himself from getting the full blown symptoms,” Shafee said.
