POLICE have questioned more than 70 people over the system malfunction in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last month that disrupted check-ins.
Several of those called in were Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) personnel, said Selangor police chief Noor Azam Jamaludin.
He said it was too soon to come to a conclusion as investigations were still ongoing.
“We are waiting for reports from several experts, including CyberSecurity Malaysia,” he told a press conference at the Selangor police contingent headquarters today.
The experts are expected to report on what had caused the system to fail in the Sepang airport.
“We hope to receive the experts’ reports soon,” Noor Azam said.
Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador recently said police did not yet know if the systems malfunction was due to sabotage.
MAHB had said in a press statement that it has lodged a police report on the possibility of sabotage.
Four of its IT personnel subsequently also filed police reports to say they were not involved in the system failure. – September 13, 2019.
