Pakatan, other parties invited to Umno-PAS gathering, says Annuar Musa

THE two-day Himpunan Penyatuan Ummah jointly organised by Umno and PAS from tomorrow is not a racial gathering but one held with a national interest at heart, said Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa.

He said the gathering did not involve just the two parties but also others from other races.

Annuar Musa added that even Pakatan Harapan parties are invited to the event.

“The gathering is to showcase our national outlook. We have invited all the political parties in the country. We have invited guests from all races and religions.

“We have Indians, Chinese, Kadazans, Dusuns and other attending the gathering,” he told reporters at Putra World Trade Centre today.

He added that Barisan Nasional components MCA and MIC have been invited as well but since the respective presidents of the parties are away, they will be represented by others.

Annuar also said he expects about 10,000 people to attend the gathering which will kick off tomorrow.

The highlight of the gathering is the signing of the unity charter between Umno and PAS on Saturday. – September 12, 2019.
