THE Kim Jong-nam murder trial has been postponed to tomorrow after the court was told that the “star” witness, chemistry expert Dr Raja Subramaniam, is suffering from exhaustion.
Dr Raja made a request to judge Azmi Ariffin for the cross examination to be conducted tomorrow, after spending nearly two hours at the Chemistry Department in Petaling Jaya showing the evidence that had been sent to him for testing, including shreds of a shirt bearing the letters “LOL” that belonged to one of the accused, Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong.
The prosecution and defence teams, along with the judge, at 9am viewed the exhibits before they were tendered in court for the trial.
Members of the media had been on standby at the Chemistry Department since 7am, hoping to be allowed into the lab to observe the proceeding.
Azmi had, on Thursday, declared the Chemistry Department lab as an “open court”, where both accused had to be present along with their lawyers. – October 9, 2017.
