Adib inquest verdict on September 27

THE Shah Alam coroners’ court has set September 27 to deliver the verdict of the inquest into the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.

Coroner Rofiah Mohamad said the case has been closed, and the verdict will be made known at 10am.

“It (the inquest) is officially closed after receiving the submissions (from all parties),” she said at the Shah Alam High Court today.

The coroners’ court ended its five-month inquest into Adib’s death on July 24 after hearing the testimonies of 30 witnesses.

Adib, a member of the Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Department’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services, sustained injuries during riots at the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple on November 27 last year.

He died at the National Heart Institute on December 17. – August 21, 2019.
