MACC chief Latheefa Koya says deputy commissioner Azam Baki will be back at work on August 22 after a period of hospitalisation and there will be no changes at the graft-buster. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, August 15, 2019.

AZAM Baki is set to report for work at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on August 22 after being on medical leave since last month, said Latheefa Koya.

The MACC chief said the deputy commissioner’s return to work will not see any new official assuming his duties.

“Azam has been discharged from the hospital and even came in to the office today,” she said in a brief statement this evening.

Latheefa’s statement comes after a news portal had reported that changes were set to take place at the MACC after Azam had been hospitalised in the Putrajaya hospital last month and had since been on medical leave.

Latheefa said the report was uncalled for and without basis. – August 15, 2019.
