SABAH Human Resource Development Department industrial trainees are much sought after and able to easily secure jobs, Jenifer Lasimbang said today.  

The assistant state education and innovation minister said the graduates had a 77% employability rate which the state government aims to raise to 90% by 2020. 

“In this effort, the department has initiated cooperation with the chambers of commerce, and collaboration with the industry players like Tan Chong Motor, Proton and Toyota,” she said during question time at the Sabah assembly today. 

The state Human Resource Development Department offers seven technical and commerce courses at the Industrial Training Institute. The first batch of 121 trainees graduated in June.

The government aims to produce 300 trained industrial personnel a year. – August 6, 2019.
