THE cabinet has yet to discuss the proposals for the redevelopment of Taman Rimba Kiara longhouse, said Hannah Yeoh.

“Up to today, the cabinet has yet to discuss on Taman Rimba Kiara,” said the Segambut MP.

Federal Territories Minister Khalid Samad was recently quoted as saying that the six ministries involved have received the proposals and are currently reviewing them.

Yeoh’s and Khalid’s respective proposals have been forwarded to the cabinet as the proposed project has been rejected by some residents.

The cabinet will also have the option to scrap the project if it does not agree on either proposal.

Yeoh said she received confirmation from cabinet members that the matter has yet to be discussed.

“To bring a paper to the cabinet, it has to be circulated to the different ministries involved, including the Attorney-General’s Chambers, for them to give their feedback. It will takes time for them to give their input.

“I’m not in the cabinet, so it’s best to get comments from the FT minister himself. But I know and have confirmed with the rest that it has not been discussed.”

Meanwhile, Yeoh said she has written to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief, Latheefa Koya, on June 17 to seek updates on the issue.

The deputy women, family and community development minister has also requested a meeting with the anti-graft body chief.

However, she has yet to hear from Latheefa.

“This case… multiple reports have been lodged even before Pakatan Harapan took over,” she said.

Meanwhile, the TTDI residents’ association (RA) has lodged a fresh report with the MACC on the case on July 16, based on findings by the Centre to Combat Corruption and Cronyism (C4).

“My hope is that MACC will look into all the reports lodged previously and also the fresh report lodged by the TTDI RA last week.”

The latest report is on the element of conflict of interest involving former Federal Territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor in the case as well as his alleged link with the developer of the Taman Rimba Kiara project and the Pavilion Genting Highlands project.

Several MACC reports over the case have been lodged, the first by TTDI residents in May 2017 followed by Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng in November of the same year.
