THE government will continue to back the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) battle against graft, said Prime Minister Najib Razak.

“If we are able to fight this, Malaysia will be a successful country that is respected, progressive and competitive.

“We will be able to achieve our aspirations and goals if we are corruption-free.”

Najib said under the Government Transformation Programme, the government had put in place initiatives to improve transparency.

Najib also announced a RM5 million allocation for MACC’s Yayasan Prihatin, to ensure the welfare of its members.

“I know they (MACC officers) work hard, day and night. Therefore, we have to support to them.

“When we are able to fight corruption and abuse of power, the country will succeed and be respected, as per our vision towards TN50,” he told the crowd. – October 1, 2017.
