PROSECUTORS suggested today that it was not only Suboh Md Yassin’s signatures that were copied and pasted on scanned letters of instructions, but also that of former SRC International CEO Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil.
During re-examination of Suboh today, ad hoc prosecutor V. Sithambaram brought out 14 scanned Real Time Electronics Transfer of Funds and Securities (Rentas) letters of instruction to AmIslamic Bank.
The documents were instruction letters sent to AmBank in 2014 and 2015 to disburse funds from SRC International to its subsidiary Gandingan Mentari as well as to corporate social responsibility partner Ihsan Perdana.
Upon juxtaposition of the documents, Suboh agreed with the prosecution that Nik Faisal’s signatures were also exactly identical.
Sithambaram: Do you agree, after looking at those signatures, that it appears that someone has copied and pasted Nik Faisal’s signature, just like yours?
Suboh: Yes.
Sithambaram: So it could mean Nik Faisal did not sign all 14 Rentas documents?
Suboh: Yes.
The defence previously showed last week that Suboh’s signatures matched and suggested that it was Nik Faisal who forged the director’s signature on the documents.
Suboh told the court last week his signatures were forged after the defence demonstrated the similarity of the signatures on a dozen scanned documents. He added it was also possible his signature on the hard copies were forged, including possibly by Nik Faisal.
Nik Faisal remains missing and is believed to be residing in Indonesia, according to reports.
