THE government’s main cyber security agency is analysing the videos that allegedly show a minister having sex with another man.

CyberSecurity Malaysia’s (CSM) chief executive officer Dr Amiruddin Abdul Wahab said forensic experts at the agency will analyse the video data they have received from the police.

“We will analyse the clips to determine their authenticity. It is part of the process.

“As an agency with forensic digital expertise, we will facilitate the probe if we are asked to. I can confirm that we have received the video,” he told reporters at the CyberDefense Forum 2019 today.

Amiruddin said the agency has a digital forensic laboratory accreditated by The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors

“Is the video authentic? We can give a definite answer as we have the ability and reputation.

“However, technical analysis can only be done with a court order or from the police,” he said.

Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz last week confessed to being one of the men in the video, and named PKR deputy president Azmin Ali as the other individual.

Haziq, who has been suspended from his duties as an aide to Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, was arrested as he was about to board a flight to Manila at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 6pm on Friday.

He was released on police bail on Sunday.

Azmin has denied Haziq’s allegation, describing it as a “vicious libel”.

He said he has instructed his lawyers to take action against Haziq and other perpetrators.

Azmin’s political secretary, Muhammad Hilman Idham, has lodged two police reports over the matter.

Yesterday, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mazlan Mansor said the force has recorded 21 statements in the course of investigations into the sex video.

Today, Azmin’s lawyer, N. Surendran said Azmin had given his statement to police yesterday. – June 18, 2019.
