POLICE will, if necessary, question Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali and Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdul Aziz over sex clips allegedly featuring the duo.

Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said if and when the two are called up will depend on investigations.

“This case is already under investigation, and whether they are needed for their statements (to be taken) will depend on how our investigations go.

“We will treat this case normally, like all other cases.

“When there is a police report lodged, we investigate. Right now, it is pretty difficult to call anyone up as they are still busy celebrating Raya,” he told reporters at an Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry Raya function in Putrajaya today.

Clips purportedly showing Azmin and Haziq having sex were disseminated in the early hours of Tuesday.

Yesterday, a Facebook account under Haziq’s name posted a video in which the 27-year-old Sarawakian “confessed” to being one of the men in the clips, and named the other as Azmin.

Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, denied the allegation yesterday afternoon, calling the sex clips and Haziq’s video a nefarious attempt at destroying his political career, and the latest in a string of attacks and intimidation bids against him and his family over the last few months.

PKR leaders have condemned the scandal as gutter politics and called the clips fake.

The attacks on Azmin have continued, however.

Yesterday evening, more photos and a video of the same duo featured in the clips circulated a day earlier were leaked to the media.

Today, a post by the Facebook account under Haziq’s name said the two men have had sexual encounters as far back as three years ago.

Haziq, who is also principal private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, was today suspended from his post as aide and ordered to reply to a show-cause letter, failing which, he will be sacked. – June 13, 2019.
