A POLICE report will be lodged on behalf of Mohamed Azmin Ali over gay sex clips implicating the economic affairs minister, said his political secretary.

Hilman Idham said he will lodge the report in Putrajaya tomorrow morning, after which he will lodge a “qazaf” report with Islamic authorities.

“The ‘qazaf’ report will be lodged with the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department to clear Azmin’s name,” he told reporters after a prayer session in support of the minister in Shah Alam tonight.

“Qazaf” refers to the shariah offence of accusing a Muslim of illicit sex without there being four witnesses to the act, as required by Islamic law.

Hilman said he will lodge the reports in his capacity as Azmin’s political secretary.

“We have discussed this with our lawyers and party leaders, and have decided to take these actions.”

Several clips of two men having sex have been making the rounds since yesterday. One of the men bears a strong resemblance to Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president.

Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdul Aziz this morning “confessed” to being one of the individuals in the clips, and named the other as Azmin.

Later in the day, Azmin issued a statement, denying that he is in the clips, and saying his lawyers will take action against Haziq and others making the claim.

Haziq, who is also principal private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, said the clips were taken “without his consent” in a hotel room in Sandakan on May 11. – June 12, 2019.
