PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today apologised for any shortcoming in the past year in his Hari Raya wishes to all Malaysians.

“Me and my wife (Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali) would like to wish all Malaysians Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“Maaf Zahir dan Batin if there are shortcoming this whole year that caused any discomfort to the people,” he said at the prime minister’s open house in Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, today.

Dr Mahathir said all Malaysians are living peacefully in a multiracial society.

“We also celebrate all the festivities together regardless of race and religion. Because of this, our country is peaceful and we all can live comfortably.”

More than 35,000 visitors thronged the prime minister’s residence today.

By 11.30am long, snaking lines were formed outside Seri Perdana as people waited patiently in queue to be admitted.

The compound is expected to remain crowded for the better part of the day.

At 4.30pm people from all walks of life continued to stream up the road leading to the venue.

Yet the size of the crowd failed to match last year’s, which numbered around 50,000, which the government was expecting to see today. – June 5, 2019.

  • We accept your apologies in the spirit of Hari Raya, Sir. Now, can you kindly remove your non-performing ministers (eg your minister of education that is hell bent on further destroying our children's future) as well as those with questionable integrity (eg fake academic qualifications). Thank you and may you and your family have a joyous Raya.
