A GOVERNMENT officer has been arrested today for allegedly receiving a golf set worth RM1,990 as gratification to approve a road painting job, said Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission sources.
The 40-year-old suspect attached to a government agency was arrested when he turned up for questioning at Selangor MACC office at about 4pm.
Sources said he had received seven golf clubs at his office last March.
“This was for him to help a businessman get a road painting contract and other related contracts worth RM224,578,” a source told The Malaysian Insight.
The man is expected to be taken to the Shah Alam magistrates’ court for remand procedures tomorrow. – May 27, 2019.
