THREE construction workers were injured when part of the multi-storey car park at the LRT Putra terminal Gombak, Taman Melati, collapsed early today.

Two of the victims have been rescued and sent to Selayang Hospital, said the Fire and Rescue Department commander M. Murugiah.

“We received an emergency call at 1.13am and sent a rescue team to the site,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Bernama reports the director of the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department Nordin Pauzi as saying two Indonesian workers were rescued early today while a Bangladeshi remains trapped under the rubble.

“A victim was found at 7.16am with the hand crushed and we were forced to amputate part of it. The victim is now at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.”

Nordin said preliminary finding point to weak structure as the cause of the collapse of the entryway to the car park. – May 23, 2019.
