AN early morning fire today destroyed more than 30 stalls in front of the Wisma Yakin complex on Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur, today.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department senior operations commander L. Logeswaran said they received an emergency call at 1.35am.

Forty-eight firefighters from the Hang Tuah, Titiwangsa, Sentul and Pudu stations arrived at the scene at 1.44am, and found the stalls on fire.

“It took 20 minutes to get the fire under control. We managed to put out the fire at 2.04am,” he said in a statement.

Logeswaran said the stalls were completely destroyed by the fire.
