PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has described the current Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration as bedfellows who have different dreams.
He said ministerial positions in the PH government are filled by too many “pak pander” – a term that refers to one being simple-minded, naïve and a village idiot.
“It is like the proverbial saying ‘sleeps on the same pillow but have different dreams’,” he told his party organ Harakah ahead of the PH election victory anniversary on May 9.
The interview was uploaded to the Marang MP’s facebook page.
Hadi said the PH ministers think they are smarter than those Barisan Nasional ministers they ousted.
“Many ministers are quick to blame their predecessors for all the problems faced by the country and give the impression that they are more capable than what they actually are.
“Many are quick to point the mistakes of previous ministers. Of course, it cannot be denied there were mistakes made by the previous administration but we cannot be blaming others and not look for solutions.
“What they should be doing is search for solutions to the problems of inflation and so on, not point fingers.”
Abdul Hadi said that even though Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has a lot of experience in administering the country, the current administration he leads has “too many prime ministers”.
“When ministers make statements like the prime minister, how do you expect the prime minister to run the country?
“They need to find a solution to this leadership problem.”
On the question of the PH election manifesto, the PAS president said many of them are nearly impossible to fulfil and some needs more than one term to do so.
“It looks like they created the manifesto in the blink of an eye.”
However, the PAS president said the people will evaluate the ruling pact’s performance at the end of its first year. – April 24, 2019
