Morib assemblyman Hasnul Baharuddin says settling his 1999 purchase of a strata shop unit was a topsy-turvy situation between the bank and lawyers until a court notice was issued. – April 18, 2019.

MORIB assemblyman Hasnul Baharuddin has denied that he is bankrupt, despite being served with a notice of insolvency by the Shah Alam High Court.

He said the notice was in relation to a purchase of a strata shop unit in 1999.

“My current status is not insolvent. The asset, which is a strata shop unit, was purchased in 1999. The location was not strategic because the developer changed the plan.

“The current location is not strategic for business or to rent out. So, the shop has been auctioned off,” he told The Malaysian Insight.

The Insolvency Notice was dated February 22, 2019, and the order came on April 4, 2019.

According to Hasnul, there was an error in the notice and Bank Islam has committed to rectifying it.

“It was a topsy-turvy situation between the bank and the lawyers… until a court notice was issued.

“But Bank Islam promised to cancel the notice.” – April 18, 2019.
