SPECIAL Branch director Abdul Hamid Bador is the new acting deputy inspector-general of police, taking over from Noor Rashid Ibrahim, who is retiring.

Noor Rashid is due to officially retire this Sunday, but the handing-over ceremony was brought forward to today.

“I was trying to control my emotions. I thought I was strong, but I know when it comes to moments like this, I become very emotional,” said Noor Rashid in his farewell speech at the Central Police Training Centre this morning.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun, who is also due for retirement in May. – March 15, 2019.
