PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad took a dig at Najib Razak today by asking how a thief could become a boss.

Dr Mahathir, referring to the former prime minister’s popular social media moniker “Bossku”, said that the latter’s supporters had chosen a thief to be their boss.

“We have ‘Bossku’, the hero, the thief. That’s the boss of them (orang itu),” he said of Najib’s supporters.

He also took a further jibe at Najib’s supporters.

“I don’t understand how a thief becomes a boss. That means they (his supporters) want to be thieves, that’s why they chose a thief,” he said during a gathering with the public at Tesco Semenyih today.

He is also set to take the stage for a grand rally at 9pm tonight, 48 hours before the Semenyih by-election kicks off.

The Pakatan Harapan chairman said that it was only a matter of time before Najib dons the “baju kuning”, referring to lock-up attire.

“He has not worn the baju kuning yet. It’s not that we don’t want him to wear it. We want him to but he has not worn it yet.

“He will wear it soon,” Dr Mahathir told the crowd.

He said that former Felda chairman Mohd Isa Abdul Samad had already worn the baju kuning when he was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, adding that in time, other Barisan Nasional leaders who have been charged with corruption will be made to wear the baju kuning.

“In time, they will all be wearing yellow and not blue,” he said to laughter from the large crowd.

The Tesco in Semenyih was also Najib’s first stop as he toured the constituency for Barisan Nasional’s by-election campaign.

He had then drawn a crowd of 500, with many surrounding him to demand selfies with the former BN chairman. – February 28, 2019.
