BARISAN Nasional cannot take anything for granted in Cameron Highlands, said Mohamad Hasan, calling on the pact to go all out to ensure victory in Saturday’s by-election.

The Umno acting president said BN candidate Ramli Mohd Nor stands a good chance of winning as he has the support of locals, especially Orang Asli and Jelai folk.

“His chances are good, but we have to work hard till the last minute.

“Nothing can be taken for granted,” he said at Masjid Kayangan in Brinchang today.

He said BN is happy to see there is solid support for Ramli, who is an Orang Asli local.

“Previously, it was a sore point for locals because BN didn’t field a local candidate in Cameron Highlands.

“But now, we have one from the community here.”

Mohamad added that the BN campaign is going on as planned.

“There has been no untoward incident except one or two, but that’s normal.”

The by-election will see a four-way fight between Ramli, Pakatan Harapan’s M. Manogaran, and independents Sallehudin Ab Talib and Wong Seng Yee. Early voting was held today. – January 22, 2019.
