PAS leaders have been warned against playing up racial and religious issues during Cameron Highlands by-election campaign.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Ministers Department Fuziah Salleh today said PAS leaders were trying to reach out to Muslim voters through unIslamic practises.
“When they (PAS) say it’s better to vote for a Muslim, they themselves are spreading lies (about other parties),” said the Kuantan MP.
“This is not right and they are using disgusting and dirty tactics (to get votes). The voters should reject them.
“So don’t talk about Islam and ask Muslim voters to vote. PAS leaders think they are holier than others just because they are from an Islamic party,” she said in Cameron Highlands.
Earlier DAP youth wing, DAP Socialist Youth, lodged a police report in Brinchang against PAS Youth for playing up religious sentiments in their campaigning.
The report was lodged by Dapsy Youth chief Howard Lee against PAS Youth chief Muhammad Khalil for spreading lies and inciting hatred against Pakatan Harapan at a ceramah in Jelai yesterday. – January 19, 2019.
