GRAFTBUSTERS raided the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission headquarters in Cyberjaya this morning, in relation to an investigation into a RM500 million project.
The move by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was a follow up to a similar raid at the head office of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
It is learnt that MACC is investigating allegations of power abuse and fraud at CCM.
MACC personnel arrived at the MCMC office at 9am and left at about noon.
They seized two boxes from MCMC during the raid.
Yesterday, MACC seized seven boxes of documents from CCM.
A source said the series of raids that have taken place since January 9 have seen 77 boxes of documents confiscated but no witnesses called up.
“The witnesses will be summoned soon,” he told The Malaysian Insight.
In November last year, Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin, who was speaking at the House of Representatives, called on the authorities to investigate the project for corruption.
MACC has also raided four other companies in the city in connection with the probe. One of the companies raided is an accounting firm in Bangsar South and one a business management consultant in Sunway Nexis. – January 18, 2019.
